Ashley was initially treated with a full upper denture. After wearing a removable prosthesis the patient wanted something fixed.
The first element is the surgical guide, it is designed with the final prosthesis in mind.
All implant positions are marked, the models scanned, and a PMMA provisional milled.
The provisional is attached to a vacuum formed sheet and used as a scan appliance for CBCT enhanced diagnosis and treatment planning.
The scan appliance is screwed into the palate and used as a surgical guide.
Initial osteotomies are prepared through the guide followed by osteotome bone expansion.
Eight maxillary implants are placed and torque values noted abutments placed and impressions made for a full arch provisional PMMA restoration.
Ashley is sent home for the day to rest.
Ashley returns early on Day Two. Her provisional PMMA restoration milled overnight and is ready to be cemented in.
She wears the temporary teeth for 4 to 6 months while her implant sites heal.
Ashley returns after taking 4 to 6 months to heal and for the implants to fuse with the bone.
After the integration period, final full contour zirconium restorations are designed, milled, sintered and finished in office.
They are cemented in and Ashley's 24 Hour Teeth case is complete!
Ashley's smile changed drastically within 24 hours.
